OK, we’ve all heard “Land of 1000 Dances” at least 1,000 times. But few of us have heard it transformed into a “raw[-]assed unissued 1967 Connecticut garage PUNK BLASTER!!!!! 100-mile-per-hour screeching fuzzblastin BRUTAL version of the Kenner/Pickett classic!” (https://www.musicstack.com/item/669108630) It may be no exaggeration to say that “this “paint-peelin’” version “annihilates every other version into dog poop. EXCEPT WILSON PICKETT’s![]” (liner notes to the Back from the Grave, Vol. 4 garage rock comp) Well, possibly purple prose, but I’ll leave that to you.

Wild Bill Nadolny explains:

A handful of acetates were pressed and passed out to local radio stations, but got virtually no airplay. All members [of Tyme][ attended Northwestern Regional High School in Winsted, Connecticut. ALWAYS out of tune, they tried to make up for their ineptness by playing LOUD . . . . TYME turned all their covers into GARAGE PUNK!
